Using Libre Writer on a Chromebook via a Memorystick

I currently prefer working with LibreOffice on my laptop. But for deskwork, I have a Chromebox plus Monitor and sometimes I have to use my wife’s Chromebook.
My question is can I download Libre Writer onto a Memory stick and use that with my desktop Chromebox?

There is a portable version for Windows (Linux?)
