Using LibreOffice Draw 3.3.4 on iMac Mountain Lion 10.8.5, how do I save a blank text box in a slide

I want to save the slide with a blank text box. When I save and re-open it, the text box is gone. Is there anyway to create a slide template with blank text boxes?
