I have a lot of svg drawings in one file. How can I copy part of it in Write as vector graphic. Via Copy-Paste it’s always pixel graphic!
First paste in Draw. Perhaps you will need to break it (menu Shape).
Thanks.
Yes it is a solution, but be suspicious of text in the drawing after the break command…
You can as well open direct the whole *.svg file in Draw, break it , make the selection and paste it in Write.
I find it better to break apart svg in Inkscape, it retains the groups.
.
Is what you want from the svg able to be shown by cropping it in Writer? It would be the simplest if a rectangular crop works.
To make and/or change the drawings, Inkscape is the best, not Draw. So keep the original in *.svg as it is (as a photographic negative), and make derivatives where and when you need it, e.g. in Write (via Draw). Don’t save the in-between-steps, only save the final Write file and keep the original. It’s good to keep the groups (and layers) unchanged in Inkscape, you don’t need them in Write.
