View > Status Bar is greyed and unselectable, but only in Base

This is a fresh re-install of LO. In Base only, I am unable to activate the Status Bar; it shows fine in the other products. In Base, the View > Status Bar toggle is greyed out. As a result, I cannot access Zoom, and my retired eyes are squinting too hard to see database components.

Anyone have any hints?

There is no statusbar available for Base. So you couldn’t activate and couldn’t zoom the window.
If you are using forms for input new content you could zoom the forms. Forms could be zoomed by shift + mouse wheel.
For Base you could set the symbol size “large” or “very large”.
If you have problems seeing so little text content you could set the whole system you are using to zoom the content. This has nothing special to do with LibreOffice.
