VLC Media Player causing LibreOffice Calc issue?

Hi, all- I recently DL’d and installed VLC Media Player, while I had the current LibreOffice already on my machine (W10 MSI laptop). These two programs don’t seem to get along well. Mainly, LibreOffice Calc suddenly wouldn’t filter anymore: if I click the down-arrow in a filterable column, the pop-down appears but clicking any selection box (to select or to deselect) either never happens or takes like a minute to happen, clear filter doesn’t work at all or even isn’t present as an option, and my laptop starts whirring like mad. Anyway, uninstalling VLC Media Player restored this calc functionality. Does VLC share a codec with LibreOffice or something, or is there some setting or registry tweak I could employ to fix this? Thanks.

I had both programs installed together without any problems. So start with telling versions and OS.

Oops, sorry:
MSI Stealth GS75 / MS-17G3 laptop
W10 Pro 22H2 x64, build 19045.5440
VLC 3.0.2.1
LibreOffice 25.2.3.2

A couple other specific items:
–I open all LibreOffice files individually via start menu/right-clicking on the proper libre icon to get the ‘recently open’ pop-up, and choosing there.
–This machine is airgapped: I’m trying to retain a useful, non-copilot-besoaked couple of W10 machines and not upgrade them to W11 (which is quite unwise to do with any personal info on-machine, IMHO), so I will not be updating W10 or otherwise exposing this machine online anymore: these LibreOffice install versions are DL’d on a W11 machine, copied to a backup USB drive, and then uploaded to this machine with the VLC issue (which was dl’d/uploaded/installed the same way).
