Edit your question to describe the context: what is this “numbering”? Chapter numbering? List item numbering? Just plain ordinary numbers in the middle of the text?
Are you adding the numbers after having typed the text or simultaneously to typing? Are they typed with the numeric keypad or main keyboard?
