Problem saving file as .odt or .doc
I am sorry to read about the problems with saving files. However, could you please provide more information:
-
LibO version
-
OS
-
what exactly do you do when you save a file?
I’m using LibO Writer version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:2)) on Kubuntu Kernel Linux 3.2.0-49-generic and KDE SC Version 4.8.5(4.8.5). I seem to have the problem with larger files (1M or more) when saving as either .odt or .doc. The .doc file usually ends up as a 1.5K file which is not readable, and the .odt file usually ends up as a large file which is also unreadable. I haven’t tried to dump the file in hex. The save often seem to end normally, but sometimes LibO just goes away, leaving th
the lock file. It also terminates with an error message about can’t write an auxiliary file (can’t remember the name). I save using either Save or Save As.
As it concerns Linux I cannot help you but surely one of the Linux specialist will look into this matter.
A last hint I can give you is to try to re-set your user profil. This is in case of very strange behavior sometimes the solution.
I also occasionally get the error: Error in writing sub-document content.xml. This is with LO 4.0.4.2 on Kubuntu 12.04. Could be related to bug 60769, which was reported fixed in 4.0…2.1
