Tried to launch from the menu. The startup banner appears and then the pop-up for a file recovery appears and immediately goes away.

I go to a terminal using my user account and type "libreoffice" this error message appears:
"QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted"

Changed to root account using su (sudo won’t work). Type libreoffice and this message appears:
/usr/bin # libreoffice
LibreOffice(6650)/kdeui (kdelibs): Session bus not found
To circumvent this problem try the following command (with Linux and bash)
export $(dbus-launch) -
I type in export $(dbus-launch). I then type libreoffice
It now works.
This has been on-going for several months now. Any ideas?
