Attempted to use a print preview and was unable to see the image of the spreadsheet. This happens sometimes, not always. The only way I can print the page is to select the cells, and print “selected cells”.

A print area has probably been set on an empty range in the sheet.
To check: Format▸Print Ranges▸Edit
Once a print range is defined, it is that which is printed (preview) by default.
The solution would therefore be to delete the print area (Format▸Print Ranges▸Clear), or to adapt to it to cells to print.
