Where can I find the document source code for a specific Writer doc?

Greetings,

I know this question has been asked before, as I remember seeing a comment on it already, but the search was confused by other similar terms.

All caveats aside… my question is discerned below…

Where (or how) can I find the source code not for the app, but for a doc I generated using the app (Writer)?

Please dont refer me to the developer section, unless it is a specific link. That’s what got confused. I’m not looking for source code to do development work, but I am seeking to find and work with a specific document.

Any help much appreciated. Sorry to be redundant.

Please edit your question to improve it. What do you call document source code? Do you mean the structure of your document as a stored file? Do you want to look at how the formatting is encoded as an XML flow?

What is your purpose? If you want to “enhance” the formatting, I’m afraid that the effort to understand the encoding would postpone the moment when you’re effectively ready to dive into your document. In addition, considering the complexity of the encoding and the necessity to nest properly XML elements, you’re likely to damage the document instead of make it prettier.

Anyway, if you just want to have a look at the encoding, save as .fodt and open the resulting file in a text editor.

When editing your question, mention OS name, LO version and save format. What was told above is only valid if you save native, i.e. .odt.

Maybe you just need to unzip your .odt-file to see whats in there.

saved it as an .fodt

@OutThere, is your problem solved then?

If so, please mark the relevant comment or answer as the solution. Thanks.
