Where to find documentation for using functions

Just now found the links, but I am using version 7.2.5.2, and the closest Getting Started manuals are for either 7.1 or 7.3, so which one should I use??

Thanks again for helping to get me off to a solid start!

Having trouble writing multiple IF statements that give correct results. Want to be able to refer to a beginners manual if possible. Thanks for any helpful links etc!

Hello,
Inclined to think your post has some inaccurate information. You have tagged this with base which is the database module but you provide no information as to the database used. This could also be calc since it contains functions and If statements. Need clarification and possible correction of tag. Getting Started manuals are probably the closest to a beginners manual you will find.

If having a problem with something, you can simply post the problem and in most cases get help from the community. When doing this please keep in mind we cannot see what you have not what you are thinking so simply include all relative information and what you are attempting to do.

Hi, sorry for the confusion. I am a newbie and appreciate your advice, which I will follow going forward. For now I thank you very much for your help, including the link to the manuals. I have now downloaded the manual for my Calc v7.2, which will likely prove to be very helpful.

Any old book on Excel of the past 30 years (starting with Excel 6 or 7) will teach you the basics for a souvereign use of today’s spreadsheet software.
Regarding the IF function, this particular function seems to make sense to many beginners. However, the usage of IF is overcomplicated if not plain wrong in many practical use cases.

Villeroy, many thanks to you for your very helpful tips, especially the warning of overcomplication using IF and the link to the Ten Concepts.
