Dear friends,
I currently use the old 3.3.2 version but I want to switch to the latest 5.0.5: during the installation process there is a point when the wizard tells me to close the LibreOffice 3.3 Menu, then I go on ( in fact, no menu was open ) but the installation process nevertheless fails.
I have tried several times but the same problem keeps occurring.
Have you got any explanation for this strange behaviour of the wizard?
Thank you so much!

Can you please also provide the name of the Operating System you are using and its version? Also, does the installation process just vanish without any error messages or do you get some warning or error before that happens? If so can you please post the error or warning messages you may be receiving?
Have you got the systray Quickstarter enabled? IT is found under Options > Memory. This is often used with Windows systems to speed up opening LibO and could be the culprit.
Sometimes removing or uninstalling the older software first, before installing the newer version can help.
Dear Bitfish and Petermau,
the Quickstarter is not enabled and the OS is Windows 10 Home 64 bit: at a certain point a window appears where it is said ( translating from Italian ) “Please exit LibreOffice 3.3 and LibreOffice 3.3 QuickStart before continuing. If you are using a multi-user system, make sure that no other user has got Libreoffice 3.3 open”.
After that, a message appears saying that the installation has been interrupted.
I am wondering whether uninstalling the old version and not managing to install the new one might eventually leave me without LibreOffice…
Thank you again if you have got any good piece of advice.
Samuele
