Installed 7.0.4.2. Tried to launch Writer and was greeted with a message that LO requires Java to be installed and active. As I don’t use LO Base, I have always deactivated Java. When I have updated to newer versions in the past, a deactivated Java did not trigger any messages. Now I am told that it must be active in order to run LO. What’s the deal?
Nothing in the dependencies had changed, and in theory it should not ask you questions that it didn’t do in the past, unless you use something that actually needs Java (e.g., new extensions with that requirement, or documents with something inside).
However, there’s always a potential for bugs. If you can find what specifically trigger the problem, you are welcome to file a bug, and CC me there.
