Hi.
I am having a similar problem and have just posted about it.
My system freezes (mouse is responsive but nothing happens, and CPU has one core maxed out whilst office.bin (whatever it is) goes nuts. I usually have to do a full restart.
Sometimes LO Writer calms down and I can continue working.
I’m using Fedora 20, and my wife uses Ubuntu and is also experiencing the same problem. I’m unable to downgrade to the previous package as it seems to have been ‘removed?’…
Just FYI
Peter
I am also having the same problem. In my situation, IT IS NOT:
DOES ANYBODY SUPPORT LIBREOFFICE? WHERE IS YOUR ANSWER TO THIS ONE?
People responding here are volunteer users, not paid support staff.
How big is the file? If over 50 MByte expect a long save time.
How big are your images? If you have 6, 10 or 20 million pixels images; or if you have pasted JPG files to LO, the image files will be huge.
Are you saving to a network disk? The save process continues long after the dotted line has crossed the bottom of the screen and this can extend to 30 seconds or more for a large file saved to a network disk.
Boot the PC in Safe Mode. Does it still do it?
I’m not the one who asked, but four years later this is still a problem for me. It’s a 500 kb spreadsheet, no images in it, local hard drive, and similarly to a comment above, hardware is not the bottleneck. Calc freezes up for 8-10 seconds on every save.
