Why doesn't "Find" function work in Writer Document?

When I try to search for a word in LibreOffice Writer document, it will not search, as if that does not look for the word unless I 1) first make an edit an 2) resave the document. Once I do that, then it will search for the word. Any clue? I believe (but am not 100% sure) this tend to happen when I first open a document.

I am using version 4.3.7.2 with Mac Os Lion 10. 7.5.

Could you try to check if something had happened in that regard in the last 3 years after your version was released?

That looks like the latest LO you can use on that OS, unfortunately. Maybe you could try reinstalling LO. There’s also an alternate search and replace LO extension available.
