I’ve used Open and LibreOffice for 4 years for my personal and business accounts. Only in the last year has the Calc spreadsheet become almost unusable. This is because it has become REALLY slow. Using arrow keys to move the cursor past the end of visible screen, so the sheet has to scroll, takes ages to catch up (sometimes a minute). Inserting a new row (Ctrl +) can take 10 seconds. Saving can take a minute. These aren’t massive spreadsheets, there is minimal formatting. Nothing complex. The performance really is unacceptable.
I waited for the latest version to come out before complaining. Have just installed Linux Mint 17 (x64) with LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 (UK English) and it’s the same, so very disappointed. Can we forget about any fancy new facilities and just get the basics right please?
Using it on an i7 with 12GB RAM and a Tosh Portege laptop with 8GB RAM.
