I’m trying to edit a document in LibreOffice 7.6.x on Windows 10 (22H2) but as soon as the document opens, I get an hourglass and “not responding” at the top of the screen.
This is a pretty old laptop and I’m used to seeing “not responding” in apps fairly regularly but it normally coincides with Task Manager saying that the Disk activity is 100% and the Memory is in the high 90s; that is NOT the case with Libre Office.
I have waited extended times and the “not responding” almost never ends; on the rare occasions when it does end, simply moving the cursor or paging up or down brings the hourglass and the “not responding” back, again for a long time.
I’ve actually got 3 documents open - one master and two sub-documents - but I can’t even close any of them in the hopes of freeing up some memory. What can I do to resolve this situation?
