Why is version 3.5.0 "recommended" on the Download page? It has poor (almost beta) quality.

Don’t get me wrong: I don’t want to rant. I just want to know why LibreOffice traits its users as fools. This is not a good policy IMHO. Release 3.5.0 still has so many bugs that it should not be recommended without explanation for normal users. It’s ok to recommend it to Early Adopters, but Joe Average should be offered 3.4.5 or 3.3.4.

I do agree with you that the front page and download page should also display 3.4.5

However, on the release-notes, it does point this out.

Release Notes | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Based on OpenOffice - Compatible with Microsoft

3.5: This is the initial release from the 3.5 branch of LibreOffice.

It contains many exciting new features, and is the recommended version for power users.

3.4.5: fixes the most-important bugs identified by users in the previous version, and of course can be deployed for production needs. aka average joe
