When I install a new version of LO on my Windows 7, jumplist items on my LO Writer icon (pinned to the taskbar) disappears. Is this LO’s bug or Windows ‘feature’?
Sorry, but what do you mean with “jump list items”?
There’s a related problem that brings up this question as really the only relevant search result on Ask LO: Windows does not associate LO’s all-in-one “console” program (or start screen or whatever you call it) with any documents. This means that after an upgrade, it’s not that the jumplist is empty, there is no jumplist, because the only thing in the Start menu is that console. You have to wade through your applications and find Writer specifically, and then you’ll have a jumplist.
Why? Becase it’s a bug.
A bug report has been filed on this: Bug 76131 - Existing pinned icon on Win7/8 is taskbar invalid after re-installation/update (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76131)
Please don’t make statements like your “Affected users should make themselves heard there”. Bugzilla issues aren’t for flash mobs, they are for tracking state and progress, and for discussion of ways to solve (technical problems among them). “Me too”-style replies, as well as bashing about slow resolution, doesn’t help, and actually make bug less manageable (useful information gets buried under tons of irrelevant rant), thus diminishing chances to get picked and resolved by a developer.
OK. Removed.
