I have been using word for years and was forced to use different versions. I need something that will open everything, copy, send as an attachment, etc. Also, will lo let me open all sorts of attachments/documents sent to me? Do I have to install anything before or after I download lo? I have recently bought a new computer with windows 10.

Unless you are planning to use Base to create/access databases then you don’t need anything else if you do download and install the latest JRE from here

General hint to anyone thinking of moving to LibreOffice. LO is available as a portable app: http://portableapps.com/apps/office/libreoffice_portable IF the portable app runs under Win10 (no personal experience with Win10) this will give you an opportunity to try it out.
