Whenever I try to open a docx file (that I had previously created and edited in libre) all I get is an error message stating “Write Error”
“The file could not be written”
The only option to dismiss the error is to click “ok” which then aborts opening the programme.
Any suggestions to fix?

I am able to open the documents in google docs, although the formatting is not identical, it’s only libre that has a problem opening the files it previously created, edited, and saved.
When LibreOffice opens a file, it creates a hidden file. Sometimes, LO can’t erase it and that blocks opening the file. Locate this ‘.~lock.filename.odt#’ file in the same directory where your file resides.

please check your file system on HDD

please try reinstall LibreOffice (and update it to 5.4.7)
