Writer: color of 'find' results

When I ‘find’ text the result of the find is selected in a color that is too
faint against the background. I want it to leap off the page at me but instead I have to pick through word by word line by line…

I see nothing in Application colors. There is an old post suggesting a transparency field under View but it is not there anymore.

Perhaps it is a global setting in the desktop configuration but if so I don’t know where to look or what to do.

Recommendation for a visually clear appearance:

sudo gedit /opt/libreoffice7.4/program/soffice

and add this:

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen
export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN

A sample dialog with this setting:

As a side effect, form controls (as used in database forms) work properly.

And related to this: Asked Before: Calc ver 7.3.1.3 Highlighted Cell Color - #4 by Villeroy
describing how to get highlighting by contrast as in the good ol’ times of user interface design.

EDIT: The second tip is about transparency. However, you may like the first one too.

Highlight colour is retrieved from the desktop theme. Change it through GNOME Control Center.
