Writer Content controls like in Word

Hi,
I am trying to create Writer template for office projects - until now we used Word and our template was automated with custom XML parts and Content Controls at the beginning of document, where we input all data about Clients, Pojects etc.

After that, we insert Content Controls as Plain Text or Date (from XML Mapping) wherever we need repeating content.

I find how to create Content Control in Writer, but I cannot repeat same content later in document.
Is that possible to do in Writer?

I can use Fields and Custom Document properties, but it is much easier to do that from organized table at the beginning of document.

Last time I used Word was a very very long time ago and I don’t think this feature existed in the then-version. Could you better describe what you do and what you expect? Please do this by reopening your question (don’t use a comment) by clicking on below it, then on the “pencil” icon to enter edit mode. Mention OS name, LO version and save format.

I understand your question as follows:
Your template (is this really a Writer template with extension .ott or a sample “ordinary” document with extension .odt to be overwritten but your users?) starts with a collection of key-value pairs (some of which being chosen from a closed list) which customise contents later in the document. This customisation may take the form of “hiding” paragraphs (leaving only those controlled by a value of some variable) or also repeating the “value” somewhere.

The first case is based on setting variable to numeric values and using them in the condition for hidden text or hidden paragraphs.

The second case can be handled with cross-references, but if your user can manually enter the “value” in the preamble table, s/he may erase the reference markup if not careful enough and this invalidates cross-references later in text. A safer approach is File>Properties but you cannot define a closed drop-down menu or list to select from. Manual entry is totally free here.

An example would help to make relevant suggestions.

Out of curiosity, which language is it?
