Writer crashes when pasting into multi-column section

When trying to paste text into a multi-column section that would need a line break after pasting, Writer freezes and crashes. Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a new document
  2. Write a word in the first line (default layout, i.e. single-column)
  3. Insert a section with three columns below it
  4. Copy “Testing” into the first column repeatedly
  5. Observe crash when pasting at a position where a line break would be necessary (for me, it crashes at the second line)

Tested on Arch Linux. Version info:
Version: 7.5.9.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.7; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
7.5.9-2
Calc: threaded

Can anybody observe the same behaviour?

EDIT: This behaviour is NOT observed when pasting text into a three-column section WITHOUT adding text into a single-column line first.

Can’t reproduce. 7.6.4.1, Fedora 39, Linux 6.6.13, KDE Plasma desktop

I assume Evenly distribute … is enabled in section properties. I however notice that balancing contents between columns does not happen as I’d expect it.

Can’t reproduce in my PC:

Version: 7.6.4.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 60(Build:1)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.7; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: es-MX (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
7.6.4-2
Calc: threaded

Yes, Evenly distribute … is enabled, disabling it prevents the crash.
This crash also happens for me when I am typing normally without copy-pasting, always at the second line break. Running 7.6.4.1 (after updating) on GNOME.
