Writer: default draw and fill colors

Hi,

I’m searching for a way to permanently change the default line and fill colors in Writer. I came across this thread from 2018, in which the answer is that there’s no way to do it. …Well, it’s been 6 years. Anything yet? It would be really nice to be able to change this.

And just to clarify: I’m not talking about in Draw, I’m talking about within Writer only.

And it will certainly be another 6 years.
The only way for something to change is to write a feature request in Bugzilla.

But my personal opinion is that nothing will change anyway. Simply because Writer is a writing program and Draw is a wonderful drawing program that already offers all the possibilities.

Workaround

Draw some shapes in Writer or Draw with the line and fill colors and create a new folder in the gallery. You can insert the shapes there (drag and drop). You can then also use these shapes in Writer or other components of LibreOffice. You can use the Transfer formatting brush to adjust new shapes.

The Gallery in LibreOffice

@Hrbrgr already gave the correct suggestion and reason.

Drawing shapes in Writer is only a reduced courtesy feature provided for quick-and-dirty “decoration” in text document. This “decoration” cannot be easily controlled and anyway does not interact nicely with text.

Use full-capable Draw to design your clip art and paste it as a single block into Writer. Draw provides styles which are in the same spirit as those of Writer and are specifically oriented for shapes. Your request is answered either by modifying built-in styles and replacing the default template, or in creating your own styles and recording them in a user-template.
