I’m pretty new to LibreOffice Writer and when I open File > New > Text Document it opens a blank page with the settings Font Name Liberation Serif and Font Size 12. I imagine that is the default settings for LibreOffice Writer. Is there a way to change those to my preferred default settings for font name and font size? It’s so I don’t need to change them every time LibreOffice Writer puts its own preferred settings there.

Set your preferred fonts and sizes. You can configure various contexts corresponding to certain paragraph styles.
Writer formatting is controlled by “styles”, a notion much more developed and elaborate than in other office suites like M$ Word.

Thanks ajlittoz for your reply. I’ve just downloaded all 448 pages of the writer guide and found a relevant page and successfully changed to one of my preferred fonts so I’ve clicked on the tick next to your answer
