writer for protest signs?

I have in the past used mspublisher to print mutliple 8.5x11 inch sheets that I then tape together for pasting on to a large protest sign. (Unexciting, but legible!). So one sheet will have the “Down Wit” portion of my message and the next one will have “h Tyranny” or whatever and I cut off the margins & tape them together.

Will writer (or some other libreoffice) do that kind of thing? I tried just making my paper size really big on the Format → Page dialog, but that does not seem to have worked.

Alternatively, export to PDF and print from Adobe Reader using the Poster button

Set the page orientation to landscape (menu Format - Page Style), and write with a character size of 230 pt.
You can add a space (of Shift + Enter) to separate words.
You will get a one page with two rows. To get one row per page use a characer size of 460 pt.
