Since yesterday (July 10, 2021) Writer has frozen every time that I tried to use it. Prior to that, it worked fine. I have been using LO for some years now and have never had any problems before. My PC runs on Windows 10. I have not installed any new programs or apps for some while. In desperation, I have installed Apache OpenOffice, which runs perfectly well but, it is nowhere near as good as LO. MS Office Word (2007) opens OK, also. I have tried opening both LO and Writer in Safe Mode but with the same result. I have also tried, unsuccessfully, opening Writer as an Administrator. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If set, try to disable OpenGL in Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> View -> Category: Graphics Output -> Option: [ ] Use OpenGL for all rendering and check whether that fixes your problem

If set, try to disable Skia in Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> View -> Category: Graphics Output -> Option: [ ] Use Skia for all rendering and check whether that fixes/mitigates your problem
(Could be also done in dialog appearing on start of LibreOffice Safe Mode)
try uninstalling and installing a older version worked for me when i had the same problem
But rename your current profile before re-installing. Just in case the profile is the reason - it shouldn’t or safe mode would have helped…
