I am trying to figure out if there is a setting I am not using . I am trying to transcribe some works and when I got back to fix corrections or add missing words as I try to type in the word it starts deleting what I have already typed it and I have to like retype the whole paragraph .
Try pressing the Insert key on the top row of your keyboard. This toggles from Insert mode (insert text when typing) and Overwrite mode (delete text when typing). It likely was in Overwrite mode.
“Overwrite mode” is also shown in the “Status Bar”.
There you can toggle “Overwrite mode” / “Insert mode” with mouse clicks on this field.
