I have a problem with Libre Writer not working in Ubuntu 14.04LTS updated to the latest. Writer used to work fine but now does not work. When trying to open a .doc or .odt file writer opens only its menu system and the desktop is still visible. No change after 5 minutes. Clicking on the icons on this “visible desktop” it does not do anything. The menu system is fully functional. Calc and Impress works without any problems. I uninstalled LibreOffice via the Ubuntu Software Center, rebooted and re-installed it with no luck. Same problem. The OS works when minimizing this writer menu system. (It is not frozen). Where can I find the log files or any pointers to fixing this issue?
