I am having trouble formatting the table borders to my specification in Writer. I have no problems making the table look the way I want it to, which is Imgur: The magic of the Internet. Unfortunately, when I close the document, and open it again, it looks like Imgur: The magic of the Internet. Note the extra borders that appear. I know how to remove the borders. But for some reason, when I close and open the document again, the borders reappear. Please kindly advise on how to fix this.
What’s the file format? Is it ODT?
Hi Mike,
The format is docx.
Please try with native ODT format. Also, what is your LO version, and OS?
Hi Mike,
I’ve tried it with ODT format, and it works fine. Unfortunately, the manuscript has to be docx format. I’m current using 5.3.7. The problem happens on 5.3.6, and 5.4.3 as well. My OS is Windows 8.1.
Please file a bug report to https://bugs.documentfoundation.org, with detailed steps how to reproduce from new document, or from a test document (if this isn’t reproducible from a clean state).
Also, please note that however would we try to improve foreign support, it’s impossible to achieve 100% fidelity; so it’s highly advisable to develop a workflow when you only work with native formats, and only export when absolutely necessary (if possible, of course).
Since you must use docx, does the free MS Office online have the features you need? It is rather limited in features compared with LibreOffice, but it uses docx as its native format.
