Zoom not working when using Base module

Does anyone know why there is no Zoom Slider visible when using Base? Is it normal, or a problem with my setup?

I’m having trouble (old age) viewing a data table’s contents, and wish to enlarge it, to make it easier to view

Tables and queries provide a preview on the naked data without any view options nor print options. Forms and reports constitute the user interface of a database.

Table icon >Right-click >Form wizard…
Create a most simple form with a table control.
In the last step of the wizard, check “Modify form”, so it opens in design mode.
Change the font size of the table control.
Switch from design mode to data mode.
Adjust the row height to the font size by dragging one of the boundaries of the leftmost row selectors.
Save the form and the Base document.

P.S. and of course, the form is zoomable. It is an ordinary Writer document with extras.

I never used this feature, but it seems to work:
Open the table.
Right-click the gray upper left corner or any row selector below the corner and choose “Format table”.
Increase the font size, which will adjust the row height.
Save the table and its embedding database document.

Thank you, your second suggestion was just what I was looking for.
