My questions are about the following: Options>LibreOffice Writer>View: Zoom section, check Use Last document setting. Does this setting refer to the last document created, or last document opened, or last document closed?
Whichever of these is referred to in this setting, does the last document transfer its zoom level to only the next newly created document, or to opening the next existing document, or both?
I do not have the higher level of technical skills with APIs and macros, and my template skills not great.
From reading historical posts, it looks like every already created document is opened with its own zoom level, so there is no real workaround to avoid constantly changing existing documents one by one into your own preferred zoom level and saving it. Correct? But the setting referenced above must do something.
The default for Writer up until 25.2 was to open at the zoom setting that each document was last saved at, this is also the default for 25.2 with the option button set to Use last document setting.
The bug report tdf#132274 added options for the user to define at what zoom level all documents should be opened regardless of the zoom level they had when they were last saved.
Yes there is, that is what setting Use preferred values does in LibreOffice 25.2 and later.
