(Zotero plugin) References to external sources in sub-documents, bibliography in master

Writer, LO 7.5.9
Master document which only links to two subdocuments. All three documents were created from one template. Master document is edit-protected, neither it is planned to contain own content.

Management of external sources is done in Zotero.
Every subdocument has few references to external publications; references were placed in subdocuments using Zotero plugin.
Citation style Acta Naturae - if it only matters here.

Master document level (view): reference numbering increments from document start till the end in pretty continuos way. What doesn’t work is the insertion of bibliography to master document using Zotero plugin. Plugin pop-up (Add/Edit Bibliography in master document) works fine however nothing get inserted in master except for the text “{Citation}”.
It makes no difference if “Store Citations as” is set to RefernceMarks or Bookmars (again Zotero plug-in, not Zotero app GUI).

May the reason be on Writer side?
Any workarounds are eventually known to exist of placing bibliography to master?

Finally, me was lucky to place bibliography to master.

Few additional details first regarding setup in use.
It is Linux Manjaro with snap store app installed in order to use snap apps. AUR apps are not used.

pacman doesn’t report LO as being present on system, merely three libs (over all) get indicated by former one. Names of those libs refer to LibreOffice. Snap store app doesn’t report LibreOffice snap as being installed, that’s in line with user desire to not have LibreOffice nor Zotero running in sandbox. Both points altogether I wonder which way LibreOffice was installed. Maybe by installer file manual download from LibreOffice web yet manual installation. I remember to had (at time of LO-setup) the desire for stable writing environment, I wanted to avoid (for duration of one single however lengthy writing) for LO to make major changes in its version hence in its functionality. A desire to have writing tools stability at highest possible level. Hence it may had been the manual download of LO-installer file from LO web.

By coming back to this question topic: my mistake was all three documents to open through some symbolic link to storage folder of master and subdocs. If to open them by their native path, no links, inserting bibliography to master works yet muster gets the form as expected.
Same applies eventually to the step of adding subdocuments to master - I didn’t check this point but (after had realized the point) adhered blindly to rule above on adding subdocs to master, just to be on safe side.

Open Problem
I am not lucky on achieving the persistence of bibliography in master. The persistence across document closing and reopening is in mind. Zotero plugin seems to lose a track to its data in master which it manifests also in one or more pop-ups.

LO 7.5.9
one template registered with Writer, master and certain number of subdocuments

I wonder if existing persistence of bibliography got in master problem has anything in common with the point below (indices & Co. are to be placed in text section, maybe bibliography put by Zotero plugin to master misses a container - a text section)

Reference: Writer 7.5 Guide, chapter 16, section Starting with no existing documents, step 7 Add table of contents, bibliography, index

Quote: You can generate a table of contents, bibliography, or index for the book, using the master document. You must insert these items into a text section in the master document. For more about these document elements, see Chapter 15, Tables of Contents, Indexes, Bibliographies. End of quote.

  • Let’s navigate to Chapter 15, section Creating a table of contents quickly :
I don’t find a step in procedure where author needs to put new section in document before inserting TOC.
  • Let’s go back to chapter 16, said section
I don’t see in procedure presented the step where document editor needs to place new section to document before continuing with TOC addition to master

Taking both statements together I conclude it is the Writer code which inserts TOC/index/others this kind which creates needed text section as container unless something quite different is in mind by stressing "You must insert these items into a text section in the master document."
