AutoCalculate stops working when column is inserted [closed]
It appears that AutoCalculate stops working when a new column is inserted in a LibreOffice 5.3.0.2 x64 (Windows 10)! To re-enable AutoCalculate, one must close and reopen the document.
I ask that you kindly try to reproduce these steps in your installation, to confirm that it is a bug:
- Start a new spreadsheet and confirm that AutoCalculate is enabled.
- Type in a number in cell A1.
- Type in another number in Cell B1.
- In cell C1 insert the formula
=A1+B1
. - Confirm that the sum in C1 works correctly; try changing the values in A1 and B1 to verify that is recalculates correctly.
- Now select column C and insert an empty column to its left, i.e. between B and C.
- Edit the sum formula (which is now located) in cell D1 to
=A1+B1+C1
. - Now type in a number in cell C1.
- Confirm that the sum in cell D1 is not updated correctly, despite the fact that AutoCalculate is enabled. Hard recalculation works.
- Close and reopen the spreadsheet.
- Finally, confirm that recalculate works correctly at all times, now that the spreadsheet was reopened.
Frankly, I am amazed, and look forward to your feedback, before I report this as a bug.
Please report the bug.
Confirmed, same for
=$A$1+$B$1+$C$1
( Version: 5.3.1.2 Build ID: 1:5.3.1-0ubuntu2 )not occuring in LO 4.0.4.2_win_x86 (win7 pro SP1), in step 9 cell D1 is updated correctly, from own experiments and other posts i suspect something is broken in autocalculate since ver. 4.2 - and that's quite a long time for ignoring a fault - i know the bug is marked fixed, from other similar problems which still occur i suspect a 'design problem' in triggering the autocalculation - looks like gone in 6.2.0.3 (x64)
the bug is not finally fixed, a little more complexity and it fails again, not on all systems?!?!, i'd like users to test and give feedback:
paste that in the range A2:C10, select column B and insert an empty column to its left, i.e. between A and then C. select cells B3:B8 and delete them with 'shift left' to fill the gap, select column D and insert an empty column to its left, i.e. between C and then E. Now ...(more)
