Reference does not exist

Want to copy-paste output values in the same sheet in the same tab which was I using a sum formula.

My problem is to add values using a sum formula. I just click on one cell and type like =b2+b29. Once typed it added the total value in b50.

Now I want to copy the value from b50 cell value and need to paste in b2. I copied but was not able to paste, because it throws the error Reference does not exist. I know two cell values should be there; then only a formula can work. But once calculated, not able to paste into any other sheet.

Screen shots don’t help.

Could you help me to find the solution which way is best for resolve this issue ?

More details are needed. Show the formula of the cell pasted and the cell copied from. Tell the exact steps needed to reproduce the problem. Finally, the tags are not good. This is not about “common” components but specifically about Calc. See guidelines for asking.

Hi Jim,

My problem is want to add value in libreoffice using sum formula i just click on one cell and type like (=b2+b29) . once typed it added total value in b50. now i want to copy the value from b50 cell value and need to paste in b2 . when i am copied but not able to paste it s throw error Reference does not exist . i know two cell value should be there than only formula can work but once calculated not able paste any other sheet also. hope you understand. Sorry for the tag confusion.

You cannot paste the formula =B2+B29 into cell B2 because that is a circular reference. Similarly, entering the formula =B2 into cell B2 produces an error.

However, you can paste the value only. To do this, copy from B50 and paste special Ctrl+Shift-V. Do not mark “Formulas.”

Hi Jim,

Thanks lot :). My problem was resolved…
