Add (Custom) Style to Custom Menu/Toolbar

There is only one thing I miss from older versions of Microsoft Word (and none from newer versions): In Word, it was possible to add actual styles to a custom menu/toolbar. The customisation dialog included a group of existing styles.

My writing includes a lot of custom styles, and I found that organising my styles as a toolbar of style groups, with each group a drop down menu, made applying the styles much easier.

I don’t think this is possible in LO. Can I make this a feature request?

Why not use Stylist switching to the Hierarchical mode really?

In the sidebar Right Click a style (or a selection) to show/hide according to you needs.

Use Inherit from property of styles to group them. See MyGroup in GroupStyles.odt

You can use the macro recorder(1) to record a macro that applies the style and then build a toolbar that call that macro.

Another option: assign a keyboard shortcut(2) to your custom style.

(1) You need to activate it on Tools → Options → LibreOffice → Advanced.

(2) Tools → Customize → Keyboard tab.
