I’m using LibreOffice 4.2.1.1 for OSX, and I have three solver engines available:
- DEPS Evolutionary Algorithm
- SCO Evolutionary Algorithm
- com.sun.star.comp.Calc.Solver
The first two work, the third doesn’t seem to (nothing happens when I pick it and then click the “Solve” button, and there are no setting options for it whatsoever). I’m obtaining ok (but not optimal) results with the first one for a toy optimization problem (with integer constraints), but I’d like to know if there’s a way to use other types of solver (perhaps as an extension?). In particular, is there any linear-only solver that I could use? Previous versions of Calc seemed to have one, so perhaps the third option is corresponding to it? If so, is there a way to make it work?
