what non-linear optimization algorithm works in LO 5.3 on MacOS (and Windows)?

I just installed on my Mac OS 10.9 the latest version of LibreOffice (5.3) and wanted the non-linear solver that I had used in version 4.x to work. So far all my internet searches on this topic failed to provide a solution. The closest was

I’m using LibreOffice 4.2.1.1 for OSX, and I have three solver engines available: DEPS Evolutionary Algorithm SCO Evolutionary Algorithm com.sun.star.comp.Calc.Solver The first two work, the third doesn’t seem to (nothing happens when I pick it and then click the “Solve” button, and there are no setting options for it whatsoever). I’m obtaining ok (but not optimal) results with the first one for a toy optimization problem (with integer constraints), but I’d like to know if there’s a way to us…

There is still the beta version of the nlpsolver for OpenOffice on the internet,

but when I tried to install it in LibreOffice 5.3 on MacOS it got blocked halfway and I had to force quit LibreOffice.

Any link to a non-linear solver that works on LibreOffice 5.x (both Mac OS and Windows, its for my university students) would be highly appreciated.
