Adjust number of gridlines

Yesterday I successfully created a template 12x12 with gridlines every inch. Hooray!

Today, I would like to use an 8.5x11 page with just 1 vertical gridline and 1 horizontal gridline (so I can see the middle point) and cannot figure out how to achieve this.

Any help appreciated thank you!

If it is just to see where fold lines will be and not needed for snap, then you could

  1. Create a new, non-printing layer called, say Guides
  2. Hold down Shift and draw a horizontal line, edge to edge. Colour and style it suitably for use as a guide.
  3. With the line selected (and nothing else), click Shape > Align > Centre and then Shape > Align > Centred so it is centered horizontally and vertically.
  4. Repeat for a vertical line
  5. Right click on the Guides layer and select Modify Layer, tick Locked, OK
  6. Save as template if needed

Both suggestions worked great, thank you so much!

There is an error (or limit) that I don’t looked for, in that 8/2 is not 3.94, and it is visible the second horizontal line at the bottom, near the 8 of the vertical ruler.
