Base not functioning (properly) on Ubuntu computer

This is a follow up of my recent question with the same heading. I thought the problem was solved, I could get access to tables and the forms worked. But on further investigation I found that reports are not working. If I try to open an existing report I get an error message, If I try to open design view to build a new report nothing happens and if I try to build a report aided by the guide I get a strangeley formatted report in Writer. My question is: Does the report builder come in a separate package as well, or is it some other malfunction this time?

What is the error message?

It sounds like you haven’t installed the
libreoffice-report-builder
and the
libreoffice-report-builder-bin
packages.

Base connected to non-Java databases works well without any Java being installed, except for the reports and some questionable “wizards”.

Have a look at Tools>Options>Advanced… Any 64-bit Java should work with LibeOffice; 32-bit in the rare cases of a 32-bit OS.

The error message is as follows:

Unable to open the document ‘Xxxx’,
at/build/libreoffice-Dc86jq/libreoffice-7.6.7/embeddedobj/source/commonembedding/xfactory.cxx:227
I assume that the report-builder is missing. How do I install those two packages?

Install Libre Office ReportBuilder on Ubuntu

Thanks a lot! Now the report builder works
