Bind Input List to a Variable

In writer, how do you bind an input list entry to a variable?

In the attached file, Bind Input List to Variable.odt, I have manage to calculate the DATE DUE by manually inputting the PERIOD, through the input field (A).

But how would I do it if the PERIOD is through an input list (B).

Also, would it be possible if I choose “1” in the input list, the “days” would be automatically set to “day.”
