Calc: can I have pink triangle for comments back (instead of the "invisible" gray symbol)?

After one of the latest updates of Calc, comments in cells are not indicated by pink triangles, the new grey symbol is almost invisible. Since I work with long tables and I need to see where the comments are, it is an unexpected complication for me.

Is there any possibility to return to the previous symbol that was clearly distinguable(any other possibility that not installing updates)? Is there any possibility tu turn off this “innovation”?

I suspect it is not, but I want to confirm…

Update: SOLUTION here (ady 2024-03-18 16:44:46 UTC) It is possible to change colour and size (15 looks like default setting of Calc for example five months ago), as for size, it is necessary to scroll down, without this, I couldn´t see any difference whatever the number was.

imagen in 24.2.7.2.
You can change the triangle color in menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Applications Colors - Spreadsheet - Comments.
If not, can you edit your question and share the LibreOffice version you are using? Thanks.

I was unaware of this option; it’s helpful, and altering the color makes the symbol more noticeable. However, it’s not just about the color; size also plays a role. The new comment indicator is, in fact, much too small.

I just found that this topic found some attention: there were previous complaints regarding the indicator being too large ( links at the end). Now, it’s hard for anyone to argue that it’s too large—it’s almost invisible. This seems like a peculiar “solution” to me…

If it’s now possible to change the color, hopefully the size of the comment indicator will also be adjustable in the future. Or am I misunderstanding something, and it’s already an option?

Calc: Make new comment indicator smaller or restyle)

You can modify the size using an experimental feature. You might need to refresh the display by scrolling before it shows correctly. See this comment in bugzilla but I suggest to start experimenting at about 10, not 100, 160259 – Calc: Cell Comment indicator is hard to see

Thank you, that works fine! I knew there is this experimental feature and I tried to use it just before reading your post, but the mistake I mad was I didn´t scroll, so I saw no difference whatever the number was.

Application Colors is not an option in Windows 25.2.0.3

25.2 has new appearance methods. At the moment (25.2.1) do not attempt to change the settings between System/Light/Dark it can cause problems.

You cannot alter the settings for Automatic at the moment so you need to create a new appearance theme or, install and then modify a preset theme.

  1. Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance and click the icon with tooltip Add more themes to select and install a preset theme (such as Office Blue 2003). Or cllick New> to create a new theme. OK and allow LibreOffice to restart.
  2. Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance and under Customizations, select Calc Comments and choose your colour
  3. To change the size I think you still have to go into Advanced and search for noteindicator, experiment around 10

Completely worthless.

I’ve used OO & LO for decades. Last thing I want is change everything in the UI.

Better to just click New, name it Standard. Then find “Calc Comments” under Customization and change the color of ONE ITEM without a horror show of hideous changes.

Sorry? What is? Hasn’t your question been answered?
You’re welcome
