Calc sheet always prompts to save even when nothing changed

I have a spreadsheet that always prompts to save even if I have not changed it. It also prompts to save again immediately after saving. The only way I can stop this behaviour is if I delete the entire contents, including clearing the contents of the ‘Name Box’.

I’ve done a clean install of 24.2.1 and deleted all user settings so they return to default but that does not fix the problem.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks. That setting was off but I tried switching it on then off but the problem remains for me. (Which I expected when I’ve run with an entirely clean / new profile).

Progress - it seems to be related to the fact that the first cell contains a line break. The first cell is merged (A1:C1) and contains just text, like:

TRADING NAME[line break]
Marketing tag line

If I remove [line break], problem solved. However, I need to line break there! Any ideas?

I just created a new ODS and all it contains in A1 is:

some text[line break]
some more text

And the issue is present. Looks like a bug to me. I’ll report it.
