Is it even possible to change comment styles? Bug fdo#37130 (the related AOO bug is aoo#109773) is a related enhancement request that deals with the choice of default font. This AskLO thread also references these bugs. Enhancement fdo#62150 is also related, although this is concerned with the default font used being a compact/compressed one in order to save on space. There does not appear to be any open bug relating to the issue you raise.
Here is my limited testing regarding the ability to change the Font name, Font size, and bold/italic/underline attributes of comments:
- Crunchbang 11, v3.5.7.2: It is only possible to set the bold/italic/underline attribute in a comment but not Font name or Font size. Set attributes are saved correctly.
- Ubuntu 10.04, v3.6.0.4: Font name, Font size, and bold/italic/underline attribute can all be set. Set attributes are saved correctly.
- Crunchbang 11, v4.1.0.4: Font name, Font size, and bold/italic/underline attribute can all be set. No attributes are saved.
The behaviour appears to be a regression from somewhere in the v3.6 series to somewhere in the v4 series. Further testing is required to determine the exact point where this functionality was lost. Once this information is clear I think we should raise a new bug that clearly indicates this is a regression (keyword set to “regression”) and that it is not the same as fdo#37130.
If you want to go ahead and raise a bug, please feel free to do so. Provide as much detail as you can, include a link to this thread, and post a link to any raised bug using the format “fdo#123456”. Thanks.
