Corrupted word file in LibreOffice

I have a corrupted word document I am desperate to get back and it was suggested to open on LibreOffice.

So far the word document when attempting to be opened on my mac says unreadable content, then unable to open and has not been able to open with the repair function. I have managed to open it in LibreOffice but it looks like its opened it in chinese and cant figure out if i can restore it and was hoping someone could help or confirm if it is really lost forever.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think the data is not there. You could have a look in your Backup folder or Temporary folder to see if something was saved. You can find the paths to the folders in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Paths

fixing the zip archive, didn’t help LO to open it.

The attached file is not a ZIP container. It contains no identifiable pattern or signature. The most suspicious factor is its size which is exactly 0x10000 bytes (64kiB). This suggests it is a copy of a random filesystem block, meaning the filesystem is corrupted (and other files on the same medium are too) or you removed a USB stick before flushing file buffers to it when you saved.
