I have tried for the past 5 hours to figure this out.
I just downloaded Libreoffice today and so far, I hate it. One issue that is repeatedly occurring is that no matter what I try, I can’t get the curly quotation marks back. The version I’m using came with the straight quotation marks and no matter what I do, I can’t get the curly ones back. Is there a fix for this? Thank you in advance. I’m using Libreoffice 24.8.5.2. I’m also using a Linux operating system.
I don’t understand. You are a first time user and want something back?? What was your previous setup then?
.
That’s what we all(?) use, as I have never seen a keyboard with curly quotes. There are rules to auto-replace quotes after input, and this depend on language settings, because different countries have often different settings here (for example the french << … >>)
.
LibreOffice works with Unicode. As a last option you could input your curly quotes as special characters.
.
So places to look are
- your language settings (general, and in paragraph)
- autocorrect configuration
- Completeness of your install in “a Linux operating system” as Linux allows a lot of variations.
