https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/page-jumps-to-cursor-position/25530 I want to reopen this question, as it is not solved. I open a long document, put the cursor in the first page, then scroll down, in a few seconds the focus is back to the cursor, so I cannot explore the document. I have tried to correct this bug, the source code is so complex that I cannot do it. One solution is disabling the autosave, the problem is that I want it enabled.
If you think it is a bug then you should report a bug at the appropriate place, How to Report Bugs in LibreOffice - The Document Foundation Wiki
This isn’t the place to report bugs
How do you scroll down? Dragging the button in the scroll bar?
Do you touch any key after that?
It is important to know that if you press one of the sideways arrow keys when on a different page then the focus and the page display will go back to the cursor position.
It happens way too often, I think it is not was was intended. When you click, when you don’t. You disable autosave, it keeps happening. If you try, you’ll see that it happens almost always, which is annoying. If I click inside the same page of the document, to a point which is perfectly visible, it scrolls. Why does it have to scroll to put the cursor in the middle if I only want to change a few characters, to say?
It’s open now.
With any document?
I have tried a new document, an old one and the current one, and it only happens with the current one. How strange… Can you reproduce the problem? I can send you the document if needed.
I don’t see the Edit icon.
In that case, add it to a comment using the icon with tooltip Upload, or drag it from your file manager onto an open comment.
Please click Help - About LibreOffice, then click the icon with tooltip Copy to clipboard that comes just after Version information. Paste into the comment too.
You can also test if the unwanted scrolling occurs in Safe mode, click Help - Restart on safe mode - Continue in safe mode and test with same file.
The pencil. Maybe you must click the ...
icon first.
