Default List Style

Hi

I want to make a default style for a bullet list, where the symbol changes whenever an indent is made. I am able to make it in the Bullet and Numbering customise section, but I am unable to save it as a default for next use.

Is there a way to make it the customised version the default option?

I think that you must create:

• a list style with your bullets preferences (as you show)
• a paragrapht style with the outline and list > Apply the list style you have created

Apply the paragraph style to any paragraph that you want to apply that list style

There are two parts to this, making the styles and having the styles available.

1. After you have created your List style, e.g. *Bullet Outline" you should create a paragraph style that links to it, e.g. List 1. The advantage of this is that when you want to get out of the list, just do a return and press Ctrl+0 to start a Body Text paragraph without list numbering.
   Right click List 1 style and in the tab Outline & List, under heading of Apply List Style click on the drop down and select “Bullet Outline”, OK.
2. To make the style available:
   • On an ad hoc basis, you can just copy a word from an existing document and the style will go with it.
   • Always available: In a new blank document add your style(s) then click File > Templates > Save as Template, In the dialogue, give it a name, select My Templates unless you have a better position for it, and tick the box Set as default template
     To remove the default status from a template click File > Templates > Manage templates, select the template with the green tick and click Reset Default or right click another template and select Set as Default
