Writer is doing these hanging punctuations and it does not look good. Is there a way to turn it off?
(LibreOffice 24.2.5.2 on Linux Mint 20.3 as a Flatpak.)
This should not happen. But it is next to impossible to diagnose with only a screenshot. Attach a one-page file corresponding to the screenshot so that we can compare.
No hanging punct here but your fonts are not installed. Substituted fonts have not the same metrics, consequently line wraps occur at different positions.
